Amana Heating & Cooling Heat Pumps
Amana heat pumps can provide most homes with all the indoor climate control they need. Because heat pumps draw some of their heating and cooling power from the environment, they are among the most cost effective ways to condition the air inside a home. Amana heat pumps have excellent insulation to prevent energy loss, sound control technology for quiet operation, and use chlorine-free R-410A refrigerant that's environmentally friendly. All Amana heat pumps are AHRI (Air-conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) certified and ETL listed.
Amana Heat Pump SEER Ratings
A heat pump's performance is based on its SEER – Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The SEER rating evaluates a heat pump's performance throughout the cooling or heating season. It's determined by dividing the cooling output of the heat pump over the season, measured in BTUs (British Thermal Units), by the electric energy it uses during the same season. Government standards require all heat pumps to have a minimum SEER of 13. Amana offers 13, 14, 16, and 18 SEER heat pumps.
Amana Premium Series Heat Pumps
All Amana Premium heat pumps come with energy efficient scroll compressors, high density foam compressor covers and sound control tops for extra quiet operation, SmartShift technology for short-cycle protection, and two-speed fan motors. The compressors in the 18 SEER and 16 SEER models have lifetime warranties. All other functional components have ten year warranties. The compressors and functional components of the 13 SEER and 14 SEER models have ten year warranties.

Amana Distinctions Series Heat Pumps
For the value-conscious homeowner, Amana offers the Distinctions line of heat pumps. All Amana Distinctions series heat pumps come with SmartShift technology for quiet, reliable defrosting. The SSZ16 and SSZ14 include a high-efficiency scroll compressor and a high quality compressor blanket. They have lifetime limited warranties on their compressors and ten year warranties on other functional components.
Amana's Distinctions Series of Heat Pumps includes:
- SSZ16 Distinctions 16 SEER
- SSZ14 Distinctions 14 SEER
- GSZ13 Distinctions 13 SEER
The GSZ13 Distinctions heat pump has an energy-efficient compressor, a louvered sound control top, and comes with a ten year warranty on all functional parts, including the compressor.
